Thanks to Zee Bangla for paying a touching and heartwarming tribute to Kalikaprasad Bhattacharjee .. It was very difficult to believe that he would never be seen on that stage ever again.. His passion of unearthing hidden talents from the nooks and corners of Bengal and educating everyone about the stories and rituals behind the songs made this program unparalleled.. He did not stop within the domains of folk music.. He also brought troupes of folk dancers and introduced those dance forms to us, sharing the background stories with us.. I do not know whether anybody will continue to do this with such fervor and love as he did.. His enthusiastic smile and passion for training the youngsters showed that he lived for music.. Music was his heart and soul.. I hope Dohar continues and Sahoj Parab continues.. He made Sahoj Parob an international event, something that nobody could ever imagine! May Lopamudra, Mriganabhi, Tanmay and the others be able to continue Sahaj Parab and make it as large as Kalikaprasad had dreamed it to be..
It was rightly said by his friend that the last song that he had written for the Bangladeshi movie Bhuban Majhi sounds like his epitaph that he penned unknowingly..
May the memory of his wide heartwarming smile give his friends the strength to continue his work passionately and diligently.
