My Thamma's eldest sister, Kamala Sengupta was the Principal of Lady Irwin School from 1946 (the year her father Dr. Shashikumar Sengupta died) to 1973.. She used to cook for her younger siblings while studying her college texts, reach college, appear for exams, and top her class.. After their mother Sarajubala's death, Kamala Sengupta and Bijoya Sengupta (my Thamma's Mejdi) looked after their younger siblings just as a mother would:
